FOUNDER & PORTFOLIO MANAGER
4387 Capital Management is headed by Brian Cota, who founded the firm in 2015.
A 21-year financial services veteran, Brian Cota started his career in the commercial banking sector—in part at ABN AMRO Bank, and primarily at Associated Bank. During his banking days, Brian worked in a number of areas, including multi-bank arrangements and senior secured financing and he performed a significant amount of investment analysis.
In his analysis work, he began to observe the powerful effect of an enterprise’s earnings on long-term company growth. This interest ultimately broadened into a study of the efficacy of technical signal-based investing.
Against this backdrop, Brian embarked on multi-year research initiative to develop an investment methodology for objectively analyzing the equities market from a fundamental and technical perspective. His research involved analyzing a multitude of stocks on the long and short side over a continuum of historical market eras and culminated in the insights and methodology that serve as the basis of this Fund’s strategy.
Brian is a graduate of Arizona State University (2000) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance.
